Yes. Septage pumping and hauling in Oklahoma requires a license through the Department of Environmental Quality, a surety bond, and annual renewal. Everything gets disposed of at a DEQ-licensed facility. Nobody’s dumping it on a field somewhere.

A conventional septic system settles solids in a tank and lets a drain field handle the rest passively. An aerobic system treats the wastewater actively, with an aerator, before it goes to the field. That’s why a lot of the newer county subdivisions require them. They hold up better on tighter or clay-heavy lots.

Risers bring the tank access lids up to ground level, so nobody's digging them up every visit. If your lids are buried now, adding risers is a one-time cost, and it makes every pump-out after that faster and cheaper.

Wipes (even ones labeled 'flushable'), grease and cooking oil, cat litter, paper towels, and harsh chemical drain cleaners are the big ones. Grease is especially rough on aerobic systems, since it can coat the aerator.
